Supervising Accountant/Auditor

San Bernardino County – Supervising Accountant/Auditor San Bernardino County is recruiting for Supervising Accountant/Auditor who performs advanced, complex cost accounting work or the most difficult and complex integrated financial, operational, compliance, and/or fraud audits. The role reviews and performs extensive and complex accounting work involving the complete fiscal activities of a department, recommends audit priorities and schedules, confers with management on sensitive problems, and analyzes and proposes procedures to increase efficiency. Benefits Auditing Pay Differential: 2.0% above base rate of pay (ATC and HS only). CPA Stipend: $750 annual stipend for employees who attain and maintain a valid CPA license. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, OR a bachelor’s degree in another field that includes 30 semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in accounting. Professional‑level accounting or auditing experience for at least 2 years of full‑time equivalent; one of those years must be equivalent to a Senior Accountant/Auditor with San Bernardino County. Certified Public Accountant license (preferred). Extensive governmental accounting experience desired. Lead or supervisory experience over professional‑level accounting staff. Travel & Background Valid California Class C Driver License required for essential job functions and mileage reimbursement. Background investigation and medical examination, including drug screening, mandatory for all candidates.
