Human Resources and Recruitment Director
Salary: $60,000 to $65,000 Annually

The Director of Human Resources serves as a strategic leader and advocate for the facility’s workforce. This role is responsible for the oversight and execution of all human capital functions, including talent acquisition, labor relations, performance management, and organizational culture. The Director ensures that HR initiatives align with the facility’s mission to provide high-quality resident care while maintaining full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Core Responsibilities & AccountabilitiesStrategic Leadership & Compliance
Policy Development: Formulates and implements personnel policies; advises the administrative team on organizational changes and workforce trends.
Regulatory Oversight: Serves as the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Compliance Officer.
Legal Representation: Represents the facility at unemployment and workers’ compensation hearings and manages government audits (OSHA, DOL, etc.).
Safety Leadership: Acts as the Safety Team Leader, ensuring strict adherence to health, fire, and sanitation codes, including MSDS and disaster preparedness.
Talent Management & Retention
Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manages the sourcing, interviewing, and selection process to ensure the facility is staffed with qualified, compassionate caregivers.
Onboarding & Culture: Leads orientation and training programs designed to integrate new hires into the facility’s culture and clinical standards.
Employee Relations: Conducts professional counseling, facilitates conflict resolution, and oversees disciplinary actions and discharges.
Recognition: Designs and manages employee engagement and recognition programs to improve morale and reduce turnover.

Compensation: Conducts wage surveys and maintains competitive job classifications and salary structures.

Documentation: Maintains all personnel files, handbooks, and manuals, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred).
Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or healthcare environment.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare-specific labor laws, FMLA, ADA, and CMS staffing requirements.
Decision Making: Ability to work independently, solve complex problems, and make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
Interpersonal Excellence: Proven ability to interact positively with residents, family members, government agencies, and staff at all levels.
Analytical Thinking: Skills in evaluating manpower requirements and analyzing labor costs.
Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for drafting policies and representing the facility in the community.
Technology: Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Resident Advocacy: Acts with a "resident-first" mindset, ensuring a caring and compassionate atmosphere that respects resident rights.
Hands-on Support: Willingness to intervene and participate in facility tasks during emergencies or as requested by the Administrator.
