Information Systems Security Officer

Location US-RI-MIDDLETOWN-201 ~ 127 John Clarke Rd ~ BBN MIDDLETOWN, Ste 3 Job Overview RTX BBN has an immediate opening for an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). The role of the ISSO is to bridge the gap between high level security policies/requirements and technical/operational implementation of those requirements. Candidates should have in-depth understanding of the cybersecurity policies and procedures for government information systems and sufficient technical knowledge and experience to implement them. The ISSO will work closely and effectively with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM)/Information System Security Engineer (ISSO), System Administrators and users on all aspects of the development and implementation of programs throughout the lifecycle. This position is onsite at our Middletown, RI location and requires a Secret Clearance in order to be considered. Responsibilities Bridge the gap between high-level security policies and technical implementation; work closely with ISSM/ISSO, system administrators and users; develop and implement security programs throughout the lifecycle; ensure compliance with RMF, NISPOM, DCSA manuals, and other DoD security requirements; conduct audits, vulnerability assessments, and SIEM monitoring; support incident response activities; support travel up to 10%. Qualifications – Must Have Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of experience implementing a security program in a classified environment; or advanced degree with 0–1 years’ experience; or five years of related experience in lieu of a degree. Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship required. Available to work 40 hours per week onsite. Experience with RMF, NISPOM, DCSA Assessment and Authorization Process Manual, DCSA Assessment and Authorization Guide, Joint SAP Implementation Guide, DoD manuals, SCI manuals. Certifications equivalent to or exceeding DoDD 8140 (8570) IAM Level I functional and baseline certification requirements (e.g., Security+, IAM Level II in progress). Knowledge of STIGs, SCAP, Splunk or other hardening and compliance, vulnerability assessment, and/or SIEM tools. 10% travel may be required. Qualifications – Preferred Experience in the execution of the Assessment & Authorization processes within RMF. Familiarity with RMF and compliance as stipulated by NISPOM/DAAPM, JSIG, ICD 503, STIGs and NIST publications. Experience with security tools for vulnerability analysis and mitigation. Experience in DoD classified environment interpreting, implementing, and assessing requirements. Experience managing cyber incident response: preservation, containment, eradication. Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting evaluation results. Customer focused, adaptable, and willing to work varying assignments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Desired certifications: Security+, CISM. Work Location Onsite – Middletown, RI. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: 68,900 USD – 131,100 USD.
