Director of Emergency Department- Registered Nurse

The Director of Emergency Services provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for the Emergency Department. This role oversees departmental operations, staffing, financial performance, quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and service line growth while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide executive oversight of Emergency Department operations.

· Ensure safe, evidence-based, patient-centered care.

· Develop and implement departmental policies and clinical standards.

· Optimize patient throughput, staffing, and operational efficiency.

· Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

· Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.

· Champion patient experience initiatives.

· Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing leaders and staff.

· Partner with physicians and executive leadership on strategic growth.

· Manage departmental budgets, labor, productivity, supplies, and capital resources.

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.

· Master's degree preferred.

· Current RN license in the applicable state or multi-state compact license

Emergency Department Nursing experience

· Minimum one (1) year of inpatient acute hospital nursing leadership experience required

· Three (3) or more years of progressive healthcare leadership experience preferred."
