Job Summary

Based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, the Allina Health Brain and Spine Institute takes a population health-based approach to patient care. The institute offers disease prevention, quaternary care, post‑acute and home care, and collaborates with programs such as the Allina Health Cancer Institute and the Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute to expand whole‑person care in the communities served.

Key Position Details

The Allina Health Brain and Spine Institute is seeking a Neurologist specializing in Migraine and Headache to join the practice at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

• Partner with primary care and other specialists treating headaches and migraines on best‑practice management
• Determine clinical pathway for appropriate regional referrals after failed conservative treatment
• Support the Botox program for headaches
• Primary practice location Abbott Northwestern Hospital with potential for metro outreach
• Opportunity to participate in research with fully supportive and collaborative administrative and research teams
• H‑1B and J1 visa candidates will be considered

Principal Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well‑being
• Practice in a thoughtful manner, considering cultural diversity, individual autonomy, and legal responsibilities
• Actively participate in a multidisciplinary team approach to case management
• Utilize quality improvement tools to develop processes that promote continuous improvement in delivery of patient care, patient outcomes, or workflows
• May participate in peer review and quality assurance

Job Requirements

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
• Board Eligible/Board Certified with ABMS or AOA required
• Active, non‑restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable

Physical Demands

Medium work: lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy) and up to 25 lbs. frequently.

Pay Range

$320,000 to $361,000 per year (starting base pay range, factors include experience, education, and union agreement if applicable).
