Staff Software Development Engineer

Position Summary Staff Software Development Engineer at CVS Pharmacy Inc. in Woonsocket, RI. Responsibilities Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements. Determine feasibility of solutions and prepare technical design documentation. Upgrade existing software applications and/or systems to improve functionality and features, focusing on performance, reliability, and maintainability. Write and review high‑quality code and perform unit and/or automation testing. Develop and deploy application components, support unit testing, and fix bugs. Participate in Agile Scrum meetings and CI/CD processes. Support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on application development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices. Mentor junior team members and independently lead the development of solutions with high complexity and risk. Telecommuting is available. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field and five years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate experience in a related occupation. Five years of experience in each of the following: CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, and DevOps; Node.js and JSON; Agile methodologies; JavaScript and Redis; Docker and Kubernetes; JIRA and Confluence; Cloud technologies (Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)); Domain support for healthcare or retail organization; developing backend services, performing code reviews, and collaborating with peers on software development solutions; cloud components including cluster management; containerized services, storage, and workspace management; supporting large data, analytics, and technology modernization initiatives.
