Software Development Engineer

Position Summary Software Development Engineer at Aetna Resources LLC, a CVS Health company, located in Woonsocket, RI. The role focuses on designing and developing software applications and platforms to support digital strategies and solutions for health care activities. Telecommuting is available. Responsibilities Analyze user needs and develop software solutions to meet business requirements. Determine feasibility of solutions and prepare technical design documentation. Upgrade existing software applications and/or systems to improve functionality, performance, reliability, and maintainability. Write and review high‑quality code and perform unit and automation testing. Develop and deploy application components; support unit testing and bug fixes. Participate in AGILE Scrum meetings and CI/CD activities. Support applications, systems, and databases used to process prescriptions, claims, and related healthcare activities. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on application development, technical requirements, code review, project deliverables, quality assurance, and software development best practices. Qualifications Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or a related field with at least two (2) years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in each of the following areas: CI/CD, Jenkins, GIT, and DevOps Java, Python, and Node.js XML, JSON, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Agile methodologies or SAFe Software Development Principles Frameworks: Angular, JavaScript, React, jQuery, Ajax, Bootstrap, or Backbone REST, SOAP, or Web Service APIs Docker or Kubernetes JIRA, Rally, or Confluence Cloud technologies: Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Hadoop Java, Python, Hive, Cassandra, Pig, MySQL, or NoSQL Software development lifecycle (SDLC) Software testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting Web and mobile applications development Writing application code and deploying to production Developing backend services, performing code reviews, and collaborating with peers on software development solutions Relational database concepts Software development best practices Contributing to large‑scale applications development, data science, or data analytics projects Compensation & Benefits Annual base salary range: $109,512.00 to $144,200.00, dependent on experience, education, geography, and other factors. Eligible for bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to base pay. Includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
