Staff Accountant

About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing accounting team supporting domestic and international business operations in oil and gas. This position offers broad exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, inventory accounting, foreign currency transactions, and cross-functional business support. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders. Responsibilities Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes Analyze financial results and investigate account variances Support balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger maintenance Participate in inventory accounting and related reporting activities Assist with external audits and financial statement support Review and analyze foreign currency transactions and related accounting impacts Collaborate with accounting, operations, and commercial teams to ensure accurate financial reporting Support process improvement initiatives and special projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 2+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations Advanced Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience in the energy, commodities, oil & gas, or related industries Experience with foreign currency accounting and multi-currency transactions Exposure to Canadian dollar (CAD) transactions or international accounting activities Experience with inventory accounting CPA designation or active pursuit of CPA certification #J-18808-Ljbffr
