Details Labor and Delivery unit with a facility delivering 100-200 births per month Night shift, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:30 13-week assignment length Patient ratio of 1:2 Required to work at least 2 holidays during the contract period, including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and/or New Year's Day Requirements Active Alabama RN license or compact RN license (pending license accepted) Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NRP Minimum 1-2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required Experience with any electronic charting system required Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products Experience circulating and scrubbing for C-sections and assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries Experience with fetal monitoring, including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care procedures Additional Information Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn units Assist with high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries including forceps/vacuum extraction Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives Perform newborn care duties including APGAR scoring, cord care, and discharge teaching to parents Support breastfeeding and lactation education for postpartum patients Manage complications such as postpartum hemorrhage and pregnancy-induced hypertension Local candidates residing within 60 miles are accepted at a lower pay rate Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days during the assignment Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for this travel position First-time travelers welcome to apply provided they meet the required L&D experience American Traveler Job ID P-749446.
