Position Overview :
The Senior Coordinator is a key member of the Donor Engagement team within the Philanthropy division. This role blends planning and execution of stewardship deliverables and donor events to deepen engagement among major donors, leadership donors, and other high value supporters of the National Park Foundation (NPF). Working with the Director, Donor Relations, the Senior Coordinator is responsible for implementing tailored stewardship plans; creating meaningful, mission-centered experiences; and developing thoughtful donor communications that convey the impact of philanthropic support. Working collaboratively across Philanthropy and the NPF enterprise, the Senior Coordinator helps advance NPF’s mission and its ability to inspire deeper investment from supporters.
Essential Functions/Duties/Tasks :
Stewardship Strategy & Donor Engagement
- Assist the Director of Donor Relations and the Manager, Donor Relations to manage and maintain a portfolio of major and leadership donors, developing comprehensive, customized stewardship plans that include strategic touchpoints, communications, recognition, and engagement opportunities.
- Collaborate with Gift Officers, as needed, to identify stewardship needs, track promised deliverables, and support donor relationships throughout the giving lifecycle.
- Coordinate stewardship for key donor societies (e.g., Teddy Roosevelt Society, Champions Society, 1916 Society), ensuring timely, personalized, and meaningful engagement.
- Track, manage, and report on stewardship metrics; assess efficacy of stewardship approaches and donor communications.
Donor Events & Experiences
- Assist in the planning and execution of focused donor events — including intimate salons, briefings, mission-focused gatherings, regional touchpoints, and in-park experiences.
- Help with logistics for in‑person, virtual, and hybrid events: venue and site selection, run of show, vendors, catering, invitations, registration, A/V needs, collateral, day‑of staffing, and event follow-up.
- Support Gift Officers in developing enhanced park experiences for major donors; curate personalized, in‑park visits or small-group itineraries showcasing the impact of their giving.
- Manage invitation lists in partnership with Prospect Development and Strategic Ops; oversee RSVP management and accurate data capture in NXT.
- Conduct post-event evaluations to assess donor engagement impact and recommend ongoing improvements.
Donor Communications & Recognition
- Draft compelling donor-facing communications, including stewardship updates, impact summaries, event-related messaging, talking points, and follow-up correspondence.
- With Philanthropy Writer, maintain and refresh donor relations collateral and stewardship tools, ensuring brand consistency and alignment with fundraising priorities.
- Assist with documenting donor intent for major and principal gifts using established gift agreement processes; manage donor recognition; and schedule related stewardship activities and reporting.
Other duties as assigned
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities :
- At least three (3) years of work experience, including 1-2 years of experience in donor relations, stewardship, event planning, or nonprofit fundraising; experience working with major donors or major gifts teams is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of fundraising best practices, donor engagement strategies, and donor recognition principles.
- Demonstrated ability to execute events—from concept through completion—in both virtual and in-person environments.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact effectively with donors, colleagues, leadership, and NPS partners.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and pivot as priorities change.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling donor communications and impact-driven content, writing samples required
- Experience with CRM systems, preferably Raiser’s Edge/NXT.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams; Adobe Pro experience is a plus.

Salary Range: $68,000 - $78,000, commensurate with experience.
