Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) you will provide essential direct and indirect nursing care under the proficient direction of a Registered Nurse aligning with established policies and procedures to optimize your skills and contribute to our patient-centered mission.

• Provides quality patient care including comfort and hygiene measures preventative skin care safety measures transport and nutritional and elimination needs.
• Promptly answers call lights and responds to patient needs. Reports patient status changes and needs to Registered Nurse accurately and in a timely manner.
• Accurately documents vital signs input/output nutritional intake personal hygiene weights and other patient care performed and reports findings promptly to Registered Nurse; m aintains thorough and confidential maintenance of patient charts and records.
• Assists with safe and appropriate delegated patient care tasks which are directly supervised by the nurse.
• Provides person-centeredcare with sensitivity and respect for the human experience in a collaborative fashion with other team members.
• Communicates concerns regarding hazards or errors related to patients to the health care team.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  
• Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program
• State registered CNA license

Preferred

• Six (6) months previous CNA or healthcare experience.

Where Youll Work

The 5th Floor Acute Care Neuro Trauma Unit at St. Anthony Hospital an achieved Magnet hospital is a 36-bed unit specializing in neuro trauma and ortho. Our department is the main service line for our patients that need the care that a Level 1 Trauma Center Provides. Patients are from all age groups (usually 16 years and above) with occasional overflow of general med/surg patients.

Located in Lakewood Colorado St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where we provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through our state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams our staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients.

In 2023 we received our exciting Magnet designation! We are so proud of our staff for this achievement which is awarded to only 10 percent of hospitals around the world. Numerous other awards certifications and accreditations have been granted to us from the American Heart Association; Chest Pain Center (CPC); American College of Cardiology; The Joint Commissions National Quality Approval; the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award; NAPBC Accreditation; American College of Radiology and many others.
