Sr. Principal R&D Project Manager - Shockwave Medical

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior Principal R&D Project Manager for Shockwave Medical in Santa Clara, California to oversee product development and commercialization activities. The role manages cross-functional teams through all phases of medical device development, from feasibility through market release, while ensuring regulatory compliance and organizational alignment.

Responsibilities

• Manage cross-functional project activities aligned with new product development lifecycle and Design Control requirements
• Establish project strategy and vision while maintaining organizational alignment across teams
• Drive multiple parallel product development projects from feasibility through market release
• Publish routine dashboards and reports communicating progress, risk, and portfolio achievements
• Mentor other project managers and provide detailed management status reporting

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, business administration, or equivalent experience
• 12+ years medical device industry experience with minimum 7 years project management
• Knowledge of QSR 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, MDR, and applicable regulatory requirements
• Project management certification or specialized training highly preferred
• Experience developing and implementing process improvement initiatives and project management frameworks
• Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational functions and levels
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
