Utilizing your strong analytical skills, youll prepare, analyze and evaluate financial information associated with forecasts and cost pools for budget, forecast, pricing, planning, invoicing and control. Additionally, the Senior Financial Specialist will actively monitor the actual costs of programs and compare allocations to the budgeted costs to identify and understand variances, interprets data to determine present and future financial performance and performs month end close activities for assigned programs.Technologies that arent just top-notch, theyre often top-secretA team of bold thinkers committed to exploring whats nextOpportunities to gain new knowledge - as its discoveredA Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business equivalent plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degreeClear understanding of internal financial practices in General Ledger Accounting, Rates and Compliance, and Cost Proposal, Accounts Payable, and Accounts ReceivableIn-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), specifically ASC606Strong analytical skills including ability to analyze data and reconcile financial accountsExperience with AI tools (claude, codex, etc) in an accounting environmentRelevant experience preferred within a DoD Contractor corporate accounting departmentIn-depth knowledge of revenue recognition practicesOutstanding communication skillsCommitment to ongoing professional developmentTeam player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team successIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationExperience with large enterprise accounting systems and analyzing large data sets using AI toolsAn exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.Research oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nations securityFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)Competitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and moreThis position is on-site with an opportunity for flex scheduling moving forward.
