Overview Head Coach – Various Sports: Baseball, Softball, Women's Basketball, Men's Basketball, Volleyball, Men's/Women's Cross Country, Men's Soccer, and Women's Soccer. Salary : $6,600 stipend with $2,400 recruiting bonus (and $1,000 retention bonus if objectives are met). Location : Lynnwood, Washington. Job Summary The head coach will be responsible for all aspects of the sports program, including planning and directing recruitment, conditioning, training, and performance of student‑athletes, as well as fiscal management for Edmonds College's Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) sports program. This position reports to the athletic director and must be conducted in adherence with NWAC and Edmonds College policies. Responsibilities Recruit, retain, coach, and provide leadership to a full roster of student‑athletes. Teach individual and team strategies, organize day‑to‑day activities, and assist students in achieving educational goals. Communicate eligibility guidelines and ensure student‑athletes meet those guidelines. Maintain a competitive and successful program, hire, supervise, and direct assistant coaches. Meet NWAC deadlines, ensure athletes complete required paperwork, and comply with NWAC and NCAA rules. Transport student‑athletes to events, assist with travel arrangements, and manage home contest logistics. Develop fundraising strategies to support the program. Organize community camps for youth in the area. Develop practice and game schedules, process institutional and conference paperwork, and inventory equipment and uniforms. Follow purchasing procedures, understand conduct codes, and foster a quality student‑athlete experience. Serve as a role model, lead team members in sportsmanship, and represent the college positively. Perform other duties as assigned and overall responsibility for the sports program. Desired Qualifications Coaching experience at the high school or college level (college preferred). Bachelor's degree (preferred) from an accredited institution. Ability to teach the sport of interest. Strong organizational, management, and communication skills with attention to detail. Proficiency with Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets. Knowledge of NWAC and NCAA rules. Knowledge of college policies, marketing, social media, promotion, and facility upkeep. Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. Experience in recruiting collegiate student‑athletes. Athletic fundraising experience. Physical Work Environment Work is typically performed in the gymnasium, field, or weight room, requiring standing, walking, and lifting materials over 25 pounds. Personal transportation is needed for meetings, scouting, and driving vans to games. Work Schedule 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Compensation Coaching stipend is $6,600 with a $2,400 recruiting bonus, and $1,000 retention bonus if objectives are met. Stipend increases are based on years of service. Conditions of Employment Required documentation of citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
