The season will run from November 16, 2026 through February 6, 2027. The successful candidate will coach the girls’ flag football team after school and on weekends. The role requires the ability to build the program by emphasizing values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, fair play, and fun. The coach must effectively communicate with high school girls and develop professional and positive relationships with others. Mandatory coaching experience; flag, 7v7 or tackle football coaching experience preferred. Job Summary The Head Coach works under the supervision of the Athletic Director and oversees the growth and development of student athletes, focusing on fundamental skills instruction with an emphasis on whole child development and academic as well as athletic excellence. The Head Coach maintains open and honest communication with students, parents, coaches, and administrators, and serves as a role model in personal management, appearance, ethics, behavior, and sportsmanship. Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions Provide age and skill-appropriate training and instruction to students, developing their skills, attitudes, sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-esteem. Teach rules and safety, and offer guidance and experiences that enhance students’ personal, physical, social, and emotional development. Promote student participation in all sports and the value of being a multi‑sport athlete. Supervise student behavior, correct behavior, and maintain discipline consistent with WIAA regulations and district/building policies. Assist in scheduling sport‑related events, including coaching meetings, practices, and games, and handle logistics such as transportation and parent meetings. Ensure the safety and well‑being of student athletes, providing first aid to injured or ill students and referring to appropriate staff as needed. Direct and supervise the work of assistants and volunteers. Establish and maintain professional interactions with students, staff, parents, and the general public. Process and manage supply orders, distribution, and inventory. Issue, maintain, and account for athletic equipment. Maintain records of student eligibility, equipment inventory, fiscal resources, and other sport records. Follow fiscal procedures and policies, and conduct fundraising activities when required. Implement and comply with WIAA regulations, district, and building policies. Maintain consistent attendance and conform to regular work hours specified. Maintain current knowledge of sport techniques, coaching certification, and training requirements. Attend meetings, clinics, and workshops. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications Skills, knowledge, and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: Knowledge of the specific sport, its rules, required skills and techniques, game strategy, and student development. Skill and ability to develop and instruct student athletes, and to apply effective strategies. Skill and ability to motivate students and impart sportsmanship, teamwork, and self‑esteem. Skill and ability to communicate effectively with various constituents. Skill and ability to foster teamwork and collaboration among stakeholders. Must be 21 years of age per WIAA regulations. Education High school diploma or its equivalent. Formal training in the specific sport as per WIAA requirements, including current CPR/first aid card. College degree preferred. Experience Experience working with student cultural and economic diversity preferred. Three years of successful experience as a head or varsity coach at the high school, college, or professional level, or other comparable experience preferred. Physical Requirements Qualifications include repetitive activities ranging from occasionally (1%–33%) to continually (66%–100%).
