Starting base salary: $85-115K
Summary
Experienced estimator sought to price/sell premium grade architectural woodwork projects at Chicagoland location. Benefits & plus commission for sales and profitability are included.
Responsibilities
-Bid reviews as required.
-Submit RFIs for clarification
-May perform other tasks as required or directed
-Collaborate with vendors and shop to determine costs
-Quantity takeoffs and pricing from architectural drawings
-Correspondence and submittal of bids as well as follow-up
-Develop and maintain vendor relationships while maintain database of vendor pricing
-Lead a team of Sales, Project Management, Engineering and Production to create a cohesive plan to produce complex projects from your estimate in handoff
-Compute cost estimates for materials, subcontracted work, production and install in proprietary custom program.
-Keep track of change orders and analyze overages in production work closely with project management, purchasing, and production to make sure scope of work being produced is what was sold.
Requirements
-Takeoffs and pricing are done in a custom software package MS Office literate especially in Excel with working knowledge of CAD preferred.
-Read and understand architectural drawings & blueprints - be able to perform material and labor takeoffs and pricing.
-Experience with estimating Architectural Millwork and Retail Store Fixtures required.
-Creative thinking to value engineer projects in the pricing stage solid math skills
-Hands on experience in architectural woodwork fabrication is a Big PLUS!
-Self-driven organizational and time management skills
-Experience in Division 6 Architectural Woodwork
-Practical knowledge of cabinetry and joinery
