Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA)Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA) for a locum tenens assignment in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.Responsibilities for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):Work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with potential call rotationSupport surgeons, PA-Cs, and RNs in a cardiothoracic surgery departmentExamine patients, formulate diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plansPerform technical, clinical, and surgical procedures as requiredDocument patient progress and surgical care using Epic EMR systemPerform endoscopic saphenous vein harvests and radial artery harvestsPlace and remove chest tubes and cathetersIntubate and extubate patients as neededPlace and remove central lines and arterial linesUtilize robotic surgical equipment; robotic lung experience is a plus but not requiredMaintain active board certification and valid state licensureMaintain current BLS and ACLS certificationsMaintain active DEA registrationPossess a minimum of 1-2 years of cardiothoracic surgery experience, with at least one year as a first assist in a CVOR specific to cardiac surgeryAdhere to COVID-19 vaccine requirements (medical/religious exemptions only)Benefits for a Surgical Physician Assistant (SPA):Weekly pay every FridayComprehensive Professional Malpractice Insurance24/7 Recruitment SupportFull-service Credentialing and Corporate Travel TeamReferral Bonus up to $1,500Astrya Global Medical Staffing offers 10+ years of staffing experience, 100% domestic support, and is certified by both the Joint Commission and National Association of Locum Tenens Organizations.
