Tax Manager - (PCS) Private Client Services / Relocation Assistance Available

Job Overview BPM is seeking a Tax Manager for its Private Client Services (PCS) team, working exclusively with Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals and families in the Bay Area and nearby cities such as Sacramento and Santa Rosa. The role involves managing complex tax planning and compliance for trusts, estates, partnerships, and closely held businesses while delivering personalized service and strategic guidance. Responsibilities Provide tax compliance and consulting to high-net‑worth individuals, partnerships, and corporations. Oversee complex tax research projects for a variety of clients and industries. Work with clients to minimize federal, state, and local tax liability. Supervise tax associates’ assignments and manage day‑to‑day delivery of tax consulting services. Develop and motivate tax seniors and associates by reviewing their work, providing counseling, leadership, and career guidance. Manage multiple engagements and deliver high‑quality products timely and efficiently. Provide proactive, personalized guidance to clients and maintain strong client relationships. Champion sustainable workplace practices, supporting remote‑first operations and paperless workflows. Deliver strategic guidance on complex tax issues across a diverse client base. Lead developing and training of associate‑level professionals. Qualifications 4+ years in public accounting with an emphasis on tax. BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field (Master’s degree is a plus). Licensed CPA or EA certification. Capability to research complex tax issues for a variety of entities and industries. Extensive experience in researching individual tax issues and tax matters across client types. Strong analytical ability and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proactive thinking and leadership in client service. Experience developing and training associate‑level professionals. Demonstrated alignment with BPM’s values and sustainable workplace practices.
