Security Guard (UA) Brooklyn, NY 4pm-12am Help Create Safe, Supportive Environments for Families $18.87/Hour THE ROLE This position is represented by Local 32BJ and offers competitive union benefits and opportunities for professional growth. Win is seeking dedicated and vigilant Security Guards to help ensure the safety and well-being of families, staff, visitors, volunteers, and property across our shelter programs. As a Security Guard, you will play a critical role in maintaining a secure environment by monitoring facility activity, enforcing safety procedures, responding to incidents, and supporting emergency preparedness efforts. - Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, staff, visitors, and volunteers.
- Conduct routine patrols of the building, grounds, and client units.
- Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious or unusual activities.
- Maintain accurate security documentation, including visitor, resident, and attendance logs.
- Participate in fire drills and serve as a member of the facility fire brigade.
- Conduct monthly fire safety inspections and fire extinguisher checks.
- Assist with emergency response activities and building evacuations.
- Enforce facility safety and security procedures in accordance with agency policies.
- Respond to incidents and crises using approved non-physical intervention techniques.
- Prepare verbal and written incident reports and document actions taken.
- Identify and report concerns related to substance use, child welfare, criminal activity, or facility safety.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Valid New York State Security Guard License required.
- Valid F02 Fire Guard Certification required.
- 2–3 years of security experience, preferably in social services, residential, shelter, healthcare, or similar environments.
- Strong observation, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
