Materials Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Manufacturing Materials Management Associate to join our team in Birmingham, AL. This role is ideal for a hands-on inventory professional who thrives in a dynamic manufacturing environment and enjoys the challenge of building and optimizing inventory tracking systems from the ground up.

In this role, you will oversee inventory across our 15-acre facility, conducting physical audits, tracking raw materials through production, and helping implement a structured inventory management system.

salary: $18 - $20 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 7 AM - 4 PM
education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Steel manufacturing materials management
• Experience in manufacturing is REQUIRED
• Able to operate forklift or scissor lift
• Find missing items and product that could be anywhere in the 15 acre facility
• Must be able to start from the "ground up" when no inventory has been done in several years
• Able to understand difference between raw goods, goods in process, and finished goods
• EMR software knowledge preferred
• Oversee and track inventory specific to a steel manufacturing
• Conduct routine physical counts and audit inventory levels to ensure accuracy
• Help implement an inventory system
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs at times and as needed
• Experience required, or college degree in related field (Materials Management,  Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering)
• Certifications are a bonus....CPIM, CSCP

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
