Software Engineer - Streaming Data, Otter - Seattle

What you’ll do Lead the development, architecture, and maintenance of real-time streaming pipelines with Apache Flink, Kafka, and related tools to ensure low-latency, reliable data delivery. Implement data quality strategies, including dynamic filtering, checkpointing, and auto-healing for robust, consistent pipelines. Support and operate real-time data infrastructure, internal tooling, and monitoring systems for pipeline health and performance. Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and analytics teams to address data needs and feature requests. Establish and promote best practices in streaming data engineering, data governance, and cloud platforms while optimizing data models for streaming analytics. What we’re looking for Exposure to streaming data frameworks/tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Google Data Flow, etc.) Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or relevant practical experience). Experience in programming languages (Java, Python, or Scala) and their application in distributed computing systems. Experience with SQL and relational data modeling concepts. Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative, proactive attitude. Good communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts to team members. We’re constantly reimagining our industry, creating new products, and refining our processes, and we do our best work together. That’s why all of our office-based teams work onsite, five days a week. The base salary range for this role is $167,000 - $230,000 Actual compensation will be determined on an individual basis and may vary depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package. You may also be eligible for equity awards and an annual performance-based bonus.
