Overview
Our client is a leading petrochemical manufacturing organization seeking a Mechanical Engineer with deep expertise in both fixed and rotating equipment reliability . To be located at one of the largest methanol production facilities in the US.
This position will serve as the subject matter expert for fixed and rotating equipment across the facility, driving reliability improvements, asset effectiveness initiatives, maintenance strategy development, and equipment lifecycle management. The successful candidate will work closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and support long-term asset reliability.
This role is best suited for an engineer with significant experience supporting both fixed and rotating equipment within chemical, petrochemical, refining, industrial gas, or other heavy manufacturing environments.
This role sits within the Reliability Department and supports an organization of approximately 140 employees and a 13-person Reliability team. We are seeking hands-on, cross-functional mechanical engineers who can operate across reliability, maintenance support, project execution, and turnaround activities.

- Reliability engineering
- Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
- Equipment troubleshooting and failure analysis
- Preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
- Turnarounds and outages
- Capital project execution
- Construction management and contractor oversight
- Equipment replacement and commissioning activities
Field Presence is essential.
The successful candidate should be comfortable:
- Spending significant time in the plant
- Working directly with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability teams
- Shadowing technicians to understand equipment and failure modes
- Troubleshooting equipment issues in the field
- Supporting plant outages, turnarounds and major maintenance activities
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7-15 years of experience preferred; candidates with up to 20 years of experience may be considered if they remain highly engaged in hands-on field and technical work
- Experience in process manufacturing industries such as: Methanol, Petrochemical, Refining, LNG, Chemical Manufacturing.
