Line Cook

Overview The line cook provides exceptional customer service by preparing and serving orders from our pre‑prepared food. The line cook takes orders from our customers and is very agile guaranteeing our excellent service. Additionally, he/she learns how to prepare different types of Mexican cuisine items, while interacting and becoming an essential team player. Responsibilities Prepares Mexican food utilizing standardized procedures and recipes by specs. Inspect and clean food preparation areas, such as equipment and work surfaces, or serving areas to ensure safe and sanitary food‑handling practices. Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature, by regulating ovens, grilles, and broilers. Works 90% of the time in our flat top to ensure quality and consistency of our recipes. Portion, arrange, and garnish food, and serve food to patrons. Assist other cooks during rush hour or emergencies. Provide excellent customer service to all patrons. Works with pre‑determined systems in place, such as responsibilities, preparation lists specific to the assigned station. Maintains safety and sanitation of all cooking areas and workspaces. Supports opening and closing duties including cleaning equipment, facilities, and the kitchen area. Other duties as assigned by supervisor. Position Requirements Competencies Orientation to customer service. Communication. Time Management. Verbal, reading, and writing comprehension and communication (English & Spanish). Flexibility. Knowledge of standard procedures management. Courses in Hispanic cuisine or others. Knife and other kitchen tools. Bilingual. Required Qualifications 1–3 years experience in a similar position, in a fast‑paced Spanish kitchen environment. Able to read, write and communicate in Spanish and intermediate English. Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment. Knowledge of kitchen standards, equipment, and sanitation procedures.Knowledge of cooking procedures and knife skills. Ability to work quickly and efficiently. Ability to work well as part of a team. Flexibility to adjust to work in tight spaces.
