Lead Operations Specialist - Mutual Fund Trade Corrections (Settlements)

Job Overview The Lead Operations Specialist is a key brokerage operations role within the Mutual Fund Trade Corrections department at LPL Financial. This senior, subject‑matter expert position involves processing and validating cash and securities transactions, reconciling accounts, answering internal and external client questions, and producing daily reports. The Lead focuses on driving team success by guiding colleagues and acting as a trusted resource in trade correction processes. Responsibilities Collaborate with management and team analysts to complete regularly scheduled key controls and oversee non‑key controls conducted by junior staff. Lead weekly team huddles, balancing engagement with information sharing. Assist junior colleagues in all aspects of the trade correction process, leveraging wide skill sets in the subject matter. Review accounts, perform reconciliations, and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and procedures; reconcile suspense accounts and validate transactions. Work with Mutual Fund sponsors and third‑party vendors to request, process, and follow up on trade corrections in client accounts. Communicate effectively with advisors, sponsors, and other operational groups to resolve account discrepancies. Field escalated emails and calls, delivering top‑level customer service while maintaining a risk‑averse approach that protects clients and the business. Recognize issues, problems, or opportunities; determine required action and resolve breaks. Collaborate and recommend solutions to business challenges. Qualifications & Requirements 3+ years of experience in the financial industry. Series 99 required. Excellent time‑management, multitasking, data entry, and email communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). Client‑first, customer‑service mindset; strong collaboration and teamwork. Risk‑averse and diligent with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills. BA/BS degree in Business, Finance, or Economics (or equivalent work experience). Experience working with mutual funds, knowledge of SEC and FINRA regulations, and team‑lead experience are preferred. Experience with BETA, Dynamics, and Excel is a plus. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $20.85–$34.71 per hour (actual base salary varies by skill, experience, education, and location).
