Software QA Automation EngineerAs our first Software QA Automation Engineer you will work with the rest of the software engineering team to guarantee that our software quality is top notch and that our testing infrastructure enables rapid development and deployment while eliminating the probability of bugs. We have a unique problem to solve: we deploy software across a wide range of hardware devices and environments that manufacture arbitrary parts out of an array of materials and need to guarantee 100% uptime and industry leading part quality. Our software and printers work together to enable some of the world's foremost leaders in manufacturing to solve problems in hours instead of weeks.What You Will Work OnDesign, develop, and deploy automated tests in a continuous build environmentWork with the rest of the software team to design and implement automated tests that enable rapid developmentReview automated tests and provide suggestions to improve the quality of the testsDig into code to help identify the root cause of an issue and help the engineering team develop a solutionDesign and develop exploratory test frameworks to cover areas unreachable by automationPioneer new methods to test hybrid software/hardware systemsHelp write test plans, test cases and provide suggestions in improving the QA processesTroubleshoot issues related to features as discovered during test executionCommunicate with product and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and product testing objectivesWhat We Look ForCommand of a scripting language (Javascript, Python, etc.) and ability to write automated tests, scripts, and toolsThorough knowledge of Linux or Mac OS X with strong knowledge of Bash scriptingExperience with automated build / continuous-integration systems like CircleCIFamiliarity with SQL, databases, and data-driven automated testsWebdriver / Web Browser Automation Testing (any language)Experience with version control in Git or equivalentProven analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills, a sense of curiosity and the desire to ask lots of questionsStrong desire to learn new skills and solve hard problemsStrong debugging skillsExpertise in troubleshooting complex customer-facing systemsBachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalentBonus PointsExperience with API automation testingExperience with AWS (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, IAM, KMS, etc)Experience with evaluating open source tools
