Qualified Medication Assistant

Essential Responsibilities Assist residents with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Remind residents of scheduled activities, social events, meals, and dressing needs as necessary. Supervise and/or administer medication in accordance with training, certification, and state regulations. Assist with laundry. Assist dietary staff with serving meals, ensuring attendance, observing residents during meals, delivering meal trays for room service, and returning trays to the kitchen. Provide supplemental nourishment and snacks as needed. Observe residents’ condition, including mental state and general well‑being, changes in physical condition, and report to the assisted living director when appropriate. Respond to residents’ call signals, make rounds, and check on safety and security. Use independent judgment to provide assistance or summon other personnel. Provide general support, comfort, and socialization opportunities to encourage independence and attendance at activities and social events. Assist activities staff with daily activities and social events, following instructions for evening and weekend programming. Assist residents to and from meals and activities, including wheelchair transport. Assist in the admission, orientation, discharge, and transfer of residents. Be cross‑trained to work at all levels of care so assistance can be provided in Assisted Living and Assisted Living Memory Care. Perform all other duties as assigned. Education & Work Experience Required Degree: High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferred Degree: N/A. Certificate(s): Medication Assistant training based on state regulations. Experience: Entry level. Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Effective communication with residents and healthcare professionals. Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations. Prioritization of tasks and effective schedule management. Knowledge of privacy regulations and patient confidentiality. Ability to build trust with clients and families to ensure positive caregiving relationships. Physical Requirements Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting. Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist occasionally. Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs. Engagement in repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements (typing and/or writing). Clarity of Vision: Near visual acuity at approximately 20 inches or less (e.g., working with small objects or reading small print, including computer use). Far visual acuity of 20 feet or more; ability to recognize features. Peripheral vision to observe areas up, down, left, or right while the eyes are fixed on a point. Compensation Pay Range $20.00 - $23.00 per hour Reasonable Pay Estimate A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00 per hour. Factors considered include job‑related qualifications, experience, skills, education, geographic location, and internal and external equity.
