Spanish Fort, AL: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an experienced Shop & Field Service Technician to join a growing industrial equipment team supporting customers throughout the industrial and municipal markets. This is a unique hybrid position combining electromechanical field service, mechanical assembly, equipment troubleshooting, piping, and shop fabrication.

When traveling to customer sites, the technician will assist with equipment installations, startups, troubleshooting, retrofits, and service activities involving pumps, fans, instrumentation, control panels, and related industrial equipment. When not traveling, the technician will work from the Spanish Fort facility performing mechanical assembly, piping, fabrication, and other hands-on production activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined technician who enjoys variety, likes working with their hands, and wants to continue developing their technical skills.

Essential Duties:

• Perform field service, troubleshooting, installation, startup, and retrofit activities at industrial and municipal customer facilities.
• Troubleshoot and service pumps, fans, motors, instrumentation, control panels, and related electromechanical equipment.
• Work around industrial electrical systems, including three-phase 480V equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical/control-related equipment issues and assist with corrective actions.
• Perform hands-on mechanical work including equipment assembly, disassembly, adjustments, repairs, and component replacement.
• Assemble skid-mounted equipment and process systems in the production shop.
• Perform piping and basic pipe-fitting activities associated with equipment and system assembly.
• Assist with installation and connection of pumps, fans, piping, instrumentation, and other system components.
• Perform thermoplastic fabrication and welding; previous plastic welding experience is not required and training will be provided.
• Operate forklifts and other shop equipment as needed.
• Provide remote technical support to customers when appropriate.
• Assist with customer training related to equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Read and follow equipment drawings, manuals, schematics, and other technical documentation.
• Work closely with experienced field service and engineering personnel to learn equipment, systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all company and customer safety requirements while working in the shop and at customer facilities.
• Travel approximately 20–50%depending on customer and project needs.

Requirements/Skills:

• Approximately 5+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience preferred; candidates with extensive industrial experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Experience with some combination of  pumps, fans/blowers, motors, control panels, instrumentation, piping, or industrial mechanical equipment .
• Experience working around 480V three-phase industrial equipment strongly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
• Experience with piping or pipe fitting is highly desirable.
• Industrial maintenance, field service, E&I, instrumentation, millwright, mechanical, or similar technical experience may be a strong fit.
• Candidates with a strong  commercial or industrial HVAC service background may also be considered.
• Technical education in instrumentation, electrical, E&I, industrial maintenance, HVAC, or a related discipline is a plus.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• HDPE or thermoplastic welding experience is a plus but  not required; training is available .
• Must be willing and able to travel approximately 20–50% .
• Must be a dependable self-starter who is willing to learn new equipment, processes, and technical skills.
• Strong work ethic, teamwork, and willingness to assist wherever needed are important for success in this position.
