Program Manager, Vaccine Development

Role Summary Supports the Program Director in overall project management for Vaccine Research and Development (VRD) program teams from research through product registration, ensuring alignment of strategic and operational objectives. Applies comprehensive knowledge of vaccine/drug development, resource management, and project planning software to contribute to team or department goals. Works within cross‑functional teams and may lead/co‑lead moderately complex sub‑team initiatives. Plays a key supportive role in scenario planning and supports clinical or regulatory workstreams within a program. Leads operational sub‑teams to ensure program deliverables are achieved on or ahead of schedule and within cost standards, achieving the desired product profile. Communicates critical project information to Portfolio Operations, asset teams, and other stakeholders using variety of reporting tools. Role Responsibilities Program Strategy Collaborates with Program Leaders and Director to develop a comprehensive program plan that integrates strategic, operational, and line plans for all indications. Program Planning Translates strategic objectives into operational plans and assesses feasibility. Drives cross‑functional and cross‑geographic alignment with strategic goals. Identifies internal/external risks and leads sub‑teams to characterize impacts, revising plans as needed. Monitors progress toward milestones, anticipates variances, and recommends solutions to schedule risk. Maintains up‑to‑date development plans for all indications in Pfizer systems (Planisware, Snapshot, Glue). Drives creation of development plans, ensuring deliverables are well characterized with timing, resources, quality parameters, interdependencies, and risk mitigation plans. Supports the evaluation, optimization, and planning of alternative operational options and performs scenario planning of project timelines. Supports negotiations for allocation of line resources to the endorsed development plan. Partners with Program Director to develop the VRD budget for vaccine development plans. Program Execution and Delivery Supports delivery of development plans in alignment with program strategies. Partners with key team members (Clinical, Vaccine Research, BioTx Pharmaceutical Sciences, Regulatory, DSRD, Commercial Development, Clinical Operations, etc.) to achieve milestones within time, cost, and quality parameters. Helps drive and monitor delivery, anticipating and managing issues and presenting resolution options. Contributes to risk management by identifying operational and project risks and developing mitigation strategies. Facilitates mandatory documentation of risk plans and communication to stakeholders. Supports program team, extended team, and sub‑team functioning, coordinating agendas, minutes, and meetings. Participates in team goal setting and monitors progress on team goals. Obtains necessary information on company processes, ensures governance interaction, and recommends action to improve performance. Information & Communication Management Communicates program and project plans to team members, governance, and VRD leadership. Provides timely information related to plans using reporting and visualization tools (e.g., Onepager, Think‑cell, PowerPoint). Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required in vaccine/drug development or related discipline; advanced degree desirable. Knowledge of project management discipline as applied to vaccine/drug development. PMP certification preferred. Experience: at least 3 years in project management and 5 years in pharmaceutical industry, including negotiating in a matrix environment, executing development plans, and managing project budgets. Demonstrated ability to plan/manage moderately complex projects and achieve team goals. Technical Skills Scientific/technical knowledge in vaccine development required for credibility with senior management. Proficient in Microsoft Project, Planisware, and other project management tools. Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to understand organizational, business, program, internal, and external processes. People Skills Motivation without direct authority. Collaborative and facilitation skills. Influence/negotiation ability. Additional Details Last date to apply: July 25, 2026. Work location: hybrid role requiring residency within commuting distance; on‑site average 2.5 days per week. Annual base salary range: $99,200.00 – $165,400.00. Eligible for Pfizer Global Performance Plan (bonus target 12.5% of base) and share‑based long‑term incentive program.
