Step into a rewarding contract role supporting the health and education of a 1st-grade student as a dedicated 1:1 Registered Nurse. This full-time, on-site position operates within a school environment close to Des Plaines, IL, and is ideal for a compassionate RN ready to make a tangible difference each day.

You’ll be responsible for closely monitoring and caring for a student with complex medical and mobility needs. Your expertise will ensure the well-being and inclusion of this young learner throughout their school day, including safe transit to and from campus.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Current, active RN license for Illinois
• Demonstrated experience with ventilator and tracheostomy care, including suctioning
• Hands-on proficiency in G-tube feeding management and safe oral liquid intake
• Physically able to assist with transferring a wheelchair-bound student and regularly handle medical equipment
• Willingness to supervise and accompany the student on the school bus for daily commutes
• Strong background in pediatric, home health, or 1:1 school nursing.
• Ability to work independently with high-acuity needs in a classroom environment
• Exceptional communication to collaborate with families, teachers, and administrative staff

Duties Include:

• Providing vigilant, compassionate care to a single student throughout the school day
• Administering respiratory and feeding interventions as needed
• Assisting with mobility, hygiene, and day-to-day personal care
• Maintaining a calm, professional presence in both classroom and transit settings
• Documenting care actions, progress, and communicating effectively with all involved parties
