Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a preschool student with complex medical needs in a collaborative school environment near Wheaton, IL. This part-time position is ideal for a Registered Nurse who values meaningful, one-on-one engagement and continuity of care throughout the school year. The role is scheduled from August 18, 2026, to May 28, 2027, Tuesday through Friday, 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. The nurse will meet the student at their residence, accompany them on the bus to school, remain for the duration of the school day, and return with them at the end of the afternoon.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Illinois RN license required
• Demonstrated experience with g-tube, tracheostomy, and ventilator care
• Previous critical care experience strongly preferred
• School nursing background desirable
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong clinical judgment, compassion, and the ability to work independently
• Must be able to reliably commute to zip code 60187 and confirm that the location works for your needs
• Willingness to submit licensure/certification and resume for consideration

Responsibilities:

• Provide thorough, attentive nursing care for a preschool student during transportation and school hours
• Monitor, assess, and manage the student's health status with a focus on airway and feeding requirements
• Collaborate effectively with educational staff and family to ensure a safe, inclusive environment
• Communicate proactively regarding the student’s changing medical needs and coordinate necessary interventions
• Maintain clear, accurate records related to care provided
