The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe and effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. Promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. Supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. Responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction. Utilizes educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Job Responsibilities: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care and reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. Monitors and documents response to clinical interventions. Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor/preceptor and demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
