Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

Location: Michigan

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift, 12 hours with 36 hours guaranteed.

Job Description: The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit collaborates with physicians to deliver a comprehensive plan of care aimed at restoring patients to optimal health. This role involves providing bedside nursing care, executing medical orders, and overseeing the functions of various support staff, including Nurse Assistants and Care Associates. The RN will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of care plans and ensuring continuous communication of patient information.

Responsibilities

• Assume a leadership role by integrating evidence-based knowledge into practice.
• Delegate and coordinate tasks and nursing care assignments effectively.
• Facilitate patient conferences and identify ongoing teaching needs for patients.
• Support professional growth through educational opportunities and mentorship.
• Lead teams to ensure appropriate patient placements and task delegations.
• Communicate relevant patient information in an understandable manner.
• Demonstrate organizational skills through effective planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience.
• Comfortable with floating to Emergency Department and Step Down.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Neurosurgical experience and open-heart experience preferred.
• Travel experience is preferred.
