Residential Property Accountant

Property AccountantOur client is hiring for a Property Accountant that will support the day-to-day accounting activities for a portfolio of properties, including reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end close. The ideal candidate will have prior experience within property management or real estate and be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.The Property Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Prepare monthly financial statements and property-level reporting.Complete bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations.Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month-end close.Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.Review property income, expenses, and general ledger activity for accuracy.Assist with annual budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.Maintain accurate accounting records for assigned properties.Partner with Property Managers and internal teams to research and resolve accounting discrepancies.Assist with audit requests and additional accounting projects as needed.The Property Accountant will possess the following:3+ years of accounting experience within property management, real estate, or a related industry.Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred, but not required.Experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting or property management software.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Property Managers and other internal teams.Equal Opportunity EmployerThe compensation philosophy reflects the Company's reasonable expectation at the time of posting.
