About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership. The CFO will be a trusted advisor to the executive team and the Board of Directors, guiding organizational strategy, resource allocation, and financial planning. This role goes beyond traditional financial responsibilities, as the CFO will be expected to communicate the financial story of the organization, demonstrate effective stewardship of public resources, and lead finance modernization efforts. The successful candidate will have at least 10 years' experience in financial management, with a strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning. They must be capable of operating in a highly visible, mission-oriented, and collaborative environment, and possess exceptional communication skills to engage with a diverse set of stakeholders. Candidates for the CFO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with advanced credentials such as a CPA, MBA, or MPA being preferred. The role requires a strategic thinker with a high degree of integrity, accountability, and a commitment to public stewardship. Experience in a public-sector or mission-driven environment is a plus, as is a background in economic development, workforce development, or public policy. The CFO will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial regulations, maintaining strong financial controls, and leading process improvement and finance transformation initiatives. Personal attributes such as executive presence, political savvy, and a collaborative leadership style are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading organizational change, process improvement, and finance modernization efforts, and will be adept at balancing strategic priorities with operational execution.
