Stew Leonard’s, a family-owned and operated fresh food store founded in 1969, has locations in Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Stew’s earned its nickname, the “Disneyland of Dairy Stores” because of its country-fair atmosphere, with costumed characters and animated entertainment throughout the store that keep children entertained while parents shop.

Catering Coordinator

Full Time Hourly – Estimated pay range $18.15 to $22.38 depending on qualifications and experience

Must be at least 18 years and older

Position Description:

The Catering Coordinator works to promote the growth of Stew Leonard’s catering services by connecting with current and potential customers. To bring a customer’s vision to life, the Catering Coordinator provides knowledge and guidance related to food selections in a prompt and courteous manner.

Your day-to-day:

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Stew Leonard’s catering menu, including holiday menus
• Speak directly with customers, in store and on the phone, and accurately document the requirements of the customer’s order
• Assist customer and guide them with food and quantity selections based on event size and details
• Return customer phone calls, when necessary
• Ensure each sales department is prepared to execute order requirements by circulating order details
• Ensure menus are up to date and available in store
• Solicit services with local businesses
• Ensure pricing is accurate
• As needed, assist chef and culinary staff in order preparation
• Deliver catering orders, when necessary
• Adhere to all health, sanitation, and safety regulations
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• At least one year experience with product knowledge
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Good computer skills and a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and in house catering program
• Good organizational skills
• The ability to multi-task

Working Conditions:

• The position requires standing and walking, with occasional sitting, reaching and lifting up to 30lbs.
