We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Labor & Delivery (L&D) / Obstetrics for a 16-week contract in Fort Defiance, Arizona. The RN will provide comprehensive maternal and newborn nursing care across Labor & Delivery, postpartum, and newborn care areas.

The unit averages approximately 40 deliveries and 6 cesarean deliveries per month. The RN may occasionally provide charge nurse coverage after completing appropriate charge nurse training and must be willing to float to other departments where clinically qualified.

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.

• Assess maternal and newborn conditions, monitor clinical changes, and implement appropriate nursing interventions.

• Support breastfeeding-friendly practices and provide education and guidance to patients and families.

• Provide occasional charge nurse coverage after required training and assist with unit coordination as assigned.

• Float to other qualified clinical areas when needed, including direct patient care or task-oriented support based on competency.

• Minimum 5 Years of Recent Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Nursing Experience Required.

• Current, Active Registered Nurse License Required; Applicable Licensure Requirements Must Be Met Before Start.

• Current American Heart Association BLS and NRP Certifications Required.

• Current ACLS or ALSO Certification Required.

• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification Required; RNC-EFM May Be Accepted as a Substitute.

This contract opportunity is suited for an experienced L&D/Obstetrics RN comfortable providing maternal-newborn care, floating as needed, and working a flexible 12-hour day-shift schedule.
