Athletic Trainer

What You'll Do Evaluate and treat athletic injuries using evidence‑based methods. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Design and implement rehabilitation programs tailored to each individual's needs. Serve as a health educator, delivering preventive care advice to patients and the community. Document assessments and treatments in compliance with state and Novant protocols. Maintain a safe environment, guided by "First Do No Harm" principles. Provide direct patient care, including rooming patients and obtaining vital signs. Perform patient triage and assess symptoms. Work closely with providers during patient visits. Assess and support home exercise programs and ongoing care plans. Educate patients on and coordinate medical equipment needs. Initiate and manage referrals. Assist with scheduling and facilitating follow-up appointments. Qualifications Education: 4‑year bachelor’s degree required; graduate from an accredited athletic training program required. Graduate degree preferred. Experience: 2 years preferred. Licensure/Certification: Current AT licensure in the appropriate state and ability to acquire additional state licenses as required; successfully pass NATA BOC exam required; hold or ability to hold AHA BLS First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certification required; hold or ability to hold CSCS, PES, BFR, Dry Needling or similar preferred. Additional skills: Excellent customer service, written and oral communication, basic computer application skills, and ability to multitask.
