Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Part Time Access Control in Santa Barbara, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, Aero/Defense, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a government and aerospace/defense location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will conduct routine rounds, observe and report unusual activity, support access procedures, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. Job Schedule:
DayTimeTue04:00 PM - 12:00 AMThur12:00 AM - 08:00 AMFri12:00 AM - 08:00 AMWhat You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and authorized contractors at a government and aerospace/defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate logs and reports in accordance with site-specific requirements.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel as directed.
- Observe and report unusual activity, hazards, and facility conditions, and complete required incident documentation in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements:
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
