Position SummaryThe Dishwasher supports the culinary team by maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas. This role is essential to ensuring residents receive meals in a clean, safe, and welcoming environment while following all food safety and sanitation standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughlyOperate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and correctlyMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen floors, walls, workstations, and dish areasRemove trash and recycling throughout the shift and maintain clean disposal areasAssist with stocking dishes, utensils, and kitchen suppliesSupport dining staff with meal service setup and breakdown as neededFollow infection control, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all timesEnsure chemicals and cleaning products are used and stored properlyAssist the culinary team during busy meal periods when appropriateMaintain organization of storage and dish areasReport equipment concerns, hazards, or safety issues to leadership immediatelyProvide friendly and respectful interactions with residents, families, guests, and team membersQualificationsPrevious dishwashing or kitchen experience preferred but not requiredAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong teamwork and communication skillsAbility to follow directions and safety proceduresDependable attendance and punctuality requiredFood Handler’s Card preferred or required per state regulationsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and walk for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsFrequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pullingAbility to work in hot, wet, and fast-paced kitchen conditionsSchedule ExpectationsWeekends and holidays may be requiredFlexible scheduling based on community needs and meal service timesWork EnvironmentThis position works within a senior living community serving older adults in Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.
