GCP Cloud Engineer

Overview:

**Position Title: GCP Cloud Engineer****Location: Remote (Mountain Standard Time)****Duration: 6+ Months Contract****Position Overview**The Colorado Office of Information Technology (CO OIT) seeks an experienced **Cloud Engineer** to support its Google Cloud Platform (GCP) initiatives. This role involves implementing designs, provisioning cloud environments, and establishing automation tools based on standards set by the Cloud Architect and Cloud Operations team. The Cloud Engineer will focus on delivering efficient, secure, and scalable application hosting environments.The role includes infrastructure provisioning, defining standards, advocating cloud adoption, and resolving production issues. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in GCP, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and enterprise-scale infrastructure deployment.**Responsibilities****Cloud Infrastructure Implementation:**• Configure and deploy Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) environments and instances per Cloud Architect designs.• Establish and manage security controls in collaboration with the NetSecOps team.• Provision infrastructure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates, primarily Terraform.**Platform Management & Improvement:**• Manage user, organizational, and group access per IAM-defined requirements.• Monitor and report on cloud platform performance to meet management needs.• Evaluate new GCP capabilities for potential adoption to enhance platform functionality.**Documentation & Advocacy:**• Define and document standards, procedures (SOPs), and templates for GCP resource consumption.• Communicate and advocate the cloud platform's capabilities to encourage adoption.**Incident Response & Troubleshooting:**• Serve as a Tier-2 escalation resource for troubleshooting and resolving production issues.• Participate in a weekly after-hours on-call rotation for incident response.**Collaboration & Automation:**• Work with the NetSecOps team to ensure network security policies are implemented consistently and automated.• Assist with automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure streamlined deployments.**Skill**Infrastructure Development (GCP)Infrastructure as Code (IaC) - TerraformCloud Infrastructure Solutions ExpertiseLarge-Scale Infrastructure DeploymentAutomated CI/CD PipelinesScripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell)GCP Foundational CertificationPlease share resume to View email address on click.appcast.io
