Registered Nurse - MedSurg (12H Nights)

This is a 13-week contract position, with 12-hour night shifts, requiring weekends as scheduled.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care to patients in a MedSurg setting. The unit consists of 1W MedSurg with 28 private beds and 2E MedSurg with 29 private beds. RNs will be responsible for managing care for a range of patients including those post-surgical, orthopedic, and various medical conditions such as pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient assignments with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-7.
• Document patient care and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
• Administer medications as required, including drips such as Heparin.
• Monitor and care for patients on Bipap, Cpap, and high-flow oxygen.
• Assist with care for both 'clean' and 'dirty' COVID-related patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
• Previous experience in a MedSurg setting preferred.
• Ability to float to other MedSurg units as needed.
