Banner University Medical Center is seeking a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join our Surgical PCU Unit. Come to a department with heart and about heart. The Progressive Care Department (PCU) at Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix provides a solid cardiac foundation that creates an outstanding cardiac nursing assistant who can leverage this experience to advance in areas such as the Intensive Care Units (ICU), Emergency Department (ED) and Operating Room (OR). PCU Patient Care Assistants are highly recruited for their critical thinking skills, which are developed through the acuity of patients we care for.

As a Patient Care Assistant, you will provide routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department. This is a full time night shift position working from 7pm-7:30am. Weekend rotations are required in this role. Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable.

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

Core functions include assisting in activities of daily living, collecting patient specimens and data, recognizing and reporting abnormalities, performing procedures and using equipment, performing receptionist/clerical duties, maintaining patient records, maintaining supplies, assisting with patient transport, and working under supervision.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, current BLS certification, current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in state of practice, and working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy.

Preferred qualifications include Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA) licensure, recent healthcare experience, and successful completion of an approved unit secretary program.
