Senior Research Statistician - Statistical Innovation (Hybrid)

AbbVie seeks a Senior Research Statistician to lead statistical innovation initiatives in clinical trial design and advanced analytical modeling. The role focuses on evaluating novel statistical and machine learning approaches, developing innovative methodologies, and advancing the organization's statistical capabilities in drug development.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, develop, and implement novel statistical and machine learning approaches for clinical innovation
- Design and conduct complex statistical investigations using scientific computing and modeling simulations
- Develop and deploy tools and techniques in R, Python, Julia to operationalize innovative methodologies
- Build external reputation through industry presentations, conferences, and peer-reviewed publications
- Collaborate with discipline experts to apply statistical expertise to real-world drug development challenges
Requirements
- PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, or closely related field
- Advanced statistical modeling knowledge and drug development process understanding
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced statistical computing and simulation
- Proficiency in standard statistical software such as SAS and R
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional consultation abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with specialized statistical software (FACTS, EAST) preferred
