SUMMARY Northwest Health Foundation (NWHF) is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to join our team of spirited and dedicated staff to support the mission and strategy of the foundation.
This position is based in Portland, Oregon and will require occasional weekends, evenings and overnight travel, regionally and nationally. NWHF employees work a mix of on and off-site with the expectation of 40-70% of staff time being spent in person at our offices in Chinatown.
ABOUT NWHF NWHF's mission is to advance, support and promote health for people in Oregon and SW Washington. We believe in a future where everyone has the opportunity to lead a healthy and successful life, however they define health and success. But too often our systems and institutions deny opportunity based on race, geography, disability and other aspects of identity. Recognizing race as the largest factor of bias, NWHF supports Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color (BIPOC) in Oregon and SW Washington to build the power, leadership, and relationships needed to shape decisions that affect their daily lives, to hold elected office and sit at decision-making tables, and to champion disability justice. When BIPOC communities have power, they can change systems and institutions to repair historic and current wrongs and create a future where everyone and every community thrives. NWHF advances our mission by funding organizations rooted in BIPOC communities, investing in power-building infrastructure, providing capacity and skill building, and advocating for policy change.
NWHF's staff and board are a dynamic team with a wide range of identities and lived experiences that makes our organization stronger, smarter and more effective. Our staff actively participate in our community, including serving on boards, raising families and otherwise working to make our region a better place outside the workday. We are governed by engaged and thoughtful boards of directors.
NWHF is committed to an equitable and inclusive workplace and we provide equal employment opportunities to all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, age, veteran status, sexual orientation, sex, gender, disability, genetic information, military service, marital status or parental status. We strongly encourage candidates from Black, Native American/Indigenous and other communities of color, immigrant, refugee, bilingual, and multicultural individuals; d/Deaf people and people with disabilities; LGBTQIA+ and gender expansive people; and people with other diverse backgrounds and lived experiences to apply. More information about NWHF can be found at
