A Brief Overview
The Vice President of Corporate FP&A is a senior financial and operational leader responsible for strengthening how View Homes plans, measures performance and deploys resources. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader will partner with the executive team and division leadership to convert financial and operating data into clear insight, timely decisions and accountable action. This role will own enterprise forecasting, corporate budgeting, management reporting, liquidity forecasting and strategic analysis while building the processes, systems and team capabilities required to support a scalable homebuilding platform. The role requires an executive who can move comfortably between company-level strategy, divisional operating detail and project-level economics.
- Create a consistent, decision-oriented planning and performance-management discipline across corporate and divisional teams.
- Establish reliable forward visibility into profitability, cash flow, liquidity, land commitments, and capital requirements.
- Challenge assumptions constructively and translate variance, risk, and opportunity into specific operating actions.
- Modernize financial models, reporting architecture, and system capabilities to improve speed, accuracy, and scalability.
- Develop a high-performing FP&A organization recognized as a trusted partner to the business.
- Lead the company’s annual corporate budgeting and business-planning processes, together with quarterly forecasting, ensuring assumptions are well supported, risks and opportunities are transparent, and corporate and divisional plans are aligned.
- Own the monthly management reporting cadence, including consolidated and divisional financial packages, budget-to-actual analysis, operating KPIs, variance explanations, and forward-looking outlooks.
- Facilitate performance review meetings with corporate and division leaders; focus discussions on root causes, accountability, corrective actions, and expected financial outcomes.
- Evaluate sales, closings, revenue, gross margin, incentives, construction costs, operating expenses, and other key drivers to identify trends and improve profitability.
- Develop weekly flash reporting and backlog-based profitability forecasts that provide management with early visibility into changes in performance.
- Build financial models and scenario analyses for major operating and capital decisions, including land investments, growth initiatives, cost-reduction opportunities, and changes in market conditions.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into concise recommendations for the CFO and executive leadership team.
- Prepare confidential memoranda, Board materials, lender and investor analyses, and other executive-level presentations as required.
- Monitor emerging business and market trends, assess their potential financial impact, and recommend practical responses.
- Support the CFO in developing and maintaining the short-term cash forecast, improving visibility into receipts, disbursements, projected cash balances, and funding needs.
- Assist the CFO with daily liquidity reporting, including cash availability, borrowing capacity, and near-term capital requirements.
- Provide analytical and reporting support for the company’s banking relationships, treasury strategy, and capital management activities, designed to preserve liquidity and financial flexibility.
- Own the integration of operating forecasts, land commitments, and financing assumptions into a complete three-statement financial outlook.
- Establish consistent financial reporting for land inventory, project performance, inventory concentration, option commitments, and forward land requirements.
- Partner with divisional Vice Presidents of Finance to ensure they are working effectively with Land, Sales, Construction, and Purchasing leaders to explain performance, test operating assumptions, and identify actionable margin and cost opportunities.
- Lead financial reporting automation and process redesign initiatives that improve accuracy, shorten cycle times, and reduce reliance on manual work.
- Partner with Accounting and Information Technology to ensure the ERP environment supports planning, reporting, and management decision-making requirements.
- Promote consistent definitions, controls, and ownership for financial and operating data used in management reporting.
- Recruit, lead, coach, and develop FP&A professionals; establish clear expectations, effective performance management, and succession plans.
- Build trusted relationships across corporate functions and operating divisions while maintaining the independence and rigor expected of the finance organization.
- Model View Homes’ values and reinforce a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and constructive challenge.
- Create an environment in which team members are encouraged to learn, improve processes, and deliver high-quality work with urgency and sound judgment.
- Deliver forecasts and management reporting that are timely, credible, and useful for decision-making.
- Improve the organization’s ability to anticipate changes in earnings, cash flow, and capital requirements.
- Create consistent planning, underwriting, and performance review practices across divisions.
- Elevate the quality and speed of executive, Board, and lender reporting.
- Build a scalable FP&A team and systems foundation that can support the company’s evolving needs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain reporting tools that leverage existing data to provide key indicators of Corporate expense trending and forecasting
- Lead the Budget Planning and Forecasting processes across all Corporate operating units, including cost center budgets, capital plans, working capital and headcount.
- Preparation and consolidation of working documents and financial statements.
- Facilitate, in partnership with ESC, month end close. Review monthly financial results, analyze variances, investigate causes of key variances, and prepare summary reports.
- Proactively propose, design, create, and deliver expense modeling to support the Corporate team including strategic investments.
- Assess the impact of forecasted changes and model the impact it will have to the business.
- Prepare monthly standardized reporting packages.
- Support the Corporate functional teams as necessary to prepare cost/benefit analysis on major initiatives and perform audits after the completion of programs to understand actual results.
- Assist in the development of market research and analysis, financial models, business cases and white papers for key sales and strategic growth projects.
- Perform other analysis as requested by executive management.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related discipline required.
- Master's Degree MBA, CPA, or comparable advanced professional qualification preferred.
Experience Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including meaningful leadership responsibility in FP&A, corporate budgeting, forecasting, and performance management required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business issues, develop integrated financial models, and convert analysis into clear executive recommendations.
- Strong understanding of cash-flow forecasting, liquidity management, and the relationships among the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP, accounting, and business-intelligence platforms.
- Executive-level written and verbal communication skills, with the credibility to influence senior leaders and operating teams.
- Track record of leading teams, improving processes, and implementing change across functional and organizational boundaries.
- Finance leadership experience in homebuilding, residential development, real estate, or another project- and inventory-intensive business.
- Working knowledge of land acquisition, project underwriting, inventory management, and homebuilding operating metrics.
- Experience implementing or materially enhancing ERP, planning, reporting, or business-intelligence systems.

Compensation
We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally between $143,000 - $185,600, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. In addition to these factors – we believe in the importance of pay equity. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the general Hiring Range for the role. Hiring at the top of the range is reserved for exceptionally qualified candidates. We consider internal and external factors as a part of every final offer. We also offer a generous total compensation and benefits package.
