Range Safety Integration Engineer

The Lockheed Martin Space team is seeking an energetic Systems Engineer to serve as a FBM LE2 Range Integration Engineer in Englewood, CO. Responsibilities Own technical Range requirements for the D5LE2 program, supporting major reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR) and leading requirements tailoring. Provide technical recommendations to aid critical decisions and support overall D5LE2 development. Collaborate closely with D5LE2 Responsible Systems Engineers (RSEs), Certified Principal Engineers (CPEs), and requirements specification authors to ensure Range requirements are properly allocated and understood. Understand program‑unique requirements and processes to guarantee the D5LE2 system meets Range requirements throughout its lifecycle. Support the technical integrity of the D5LE2 system alongside other Systems Integrators. Maintain an in‑depth understanding of the Range requirements within the given scope to support D5LE2 system development efforts. Identify and communicate potential risks related to Range Safety for FBM program leadership. Basic Qualifications Experience with one or more Engineering functions including: Systems integration Requirements development System trade studies, CONOPS, and/or system modeling Ability to operate in a dynamic environment, manage various assignments, and interface with numerous peers as part of daily program operations. Required to obtain a Top Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship required. Desired Skills Background in Systems Engineering. Knowledge of flight tests, Range Safety, or Range requirements (e.g., RCC‑319). Familiarity with risk management processes. Strong presentation skills and ability to brief diverse audiences. Team player with demonstrated participation in cross‑functional teams. Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to absorb extensive technical detail and formulate solutions under inflexible schedules. Working knowledge of complex missile or launch vehicle systems and subsystems. General understanding of missile or launch vehicle design/assembly. Knowledge of support equipment and operational procedures for missiles or launch vehicles. Experience ensuring the physical and functional compatibility of hardware products throughout the program lifecycle. Certification as a Principal Engineer (CPE) or Delegate CPE for electronics packages, and Engineering Material Review (EMRB) experience. Proven track record of good judgment and programmatic execution to meet technical requirements while balancing schedules and budget obligations. Knowledge of the Submarine Launch Ballistic Missile (SLBM) Strategic Weapon System. Knowledge of Trident II (D5LE) Missile System design and operation, and interfaces to the Reentry System. Experience developing new missile systems and corresponding mechanical and electrical ground support equipment. Experience with D5LE missile processing, wharf operations and In‑Tube Conversion procedures. Experience working with FBM Navy customer organization (Strategic Systems Program), including the Missile Branch, Reentry Branch, and contractor support activity. Capability to interface with Navy on Fleet and Facility support issues related to the Trident II (D5) Missile. Security Clearance Requires a DOD Top Secret clearance. US Citizenship is mandatory. Pay Range The annual base salary range for this position (excluding most major metropolitan areas) is $89,300 – $157,550, with adjustments based on final work location.
