About the Position

License: Must have active Illinois license to apply. Certifications: BLS, ACLS required. NIHSS, TNCC, and TNS preferred. Must-Have: Candidates must be able to float to meet facility needs. Description: We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse. The position requires working three 12-hour night shifts per week. The average daily census is 10 patients. Candidates must have at least one year of ICU experience. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend work is required every other weekend. The facility operates as a trauma/burn ICU but accepts medical and cardiac overflow patients. Travelers will be the first to float to other ICUs and general floors as needed. The facility is a Level I trauma center and recognized as a Magnet hospital. Nurses are expected to manage and care for ventilated patients, administer blood products, and monitor patients with multisystem organ dysfunction. Candidates should have experience with various skills, including arterial line management and interpreting arterial blood gases. It is essential to have certifications in BLS and ACLS, with NIHSS, TNCC, and TNS preferred. Candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Please note that while the facility allows local candidates, there are specific guidelines for travel nurses.
