We uplift and revitalize communities through the success of our students and through inspiring them to uplift our communities now and forever and through the development of educational and other supportive partnerships.The Team Member we are searching forThe ideal Behavior Implementation Interventionist (BII) believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, execution of school culture, and collaboration to ensure student success. This team member will support the Inclusion Team in providing service minutes to support the growth of students with IEPs based on behavior and social-emotional needs. All PUC school students participate in full inclusion.What you will need to accomplish:Under the direction of a BID and/or Inclusion Specialist, you will:Understand school-wide student and staff expectations and actively support programming 1:1 to a student with special needs who requires support in the area of behavior and social-emotional regulationImplement data-driven Behavior Intervention support as an IEP-related service directly, including (but not limited to):Facilitating recognition of students who are successful in meeting social, emotional, and behavioral goalsPromoting positive learning and reinforcing replacement behaviorsPromoting and teaching self-regulationPrompting student behaviorEngaging in de-escalation and redirection as neededAssisting with toileting and daily functional skills, if requiredUnderstand and implement the Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) in the student’s current IEP along with any behavior support or safety plan development and modified by the BID and/or school-based teamWork directly with student(s), often 1:1 in the classroom and school environment, to implement their behavior plans and ensure access to appropriate supports based on their IEPCollect data on behavior for interpretation by BID, Inclusion Specialist, and other charter staffCompile multiple types of data records daily, weekly, and monthlyRecord and track support in Welligent on at least a weekly basisDirect all parent inquiries to the BID and Inclusion SpecialistAttend and complete all required trainings as assigned by PUC, your site leader, and/or BID and Inclusion SpecialistFoster a safe and nurturing learning environment in collaboration with teachers and staffBuild professional knowledgeDemonstrate support and knowledge of the school's goals and missionPerform other duties as assignedWhat do we require from you?Minimum QualificationsEducation:Possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred ORMust complete 12 semester units and/or 18 quarter units and be currently enrolled for the same unitsRegistered Behavior Therapy (RBT) License preferredExperience:At least 1 year of previous experience working in a school-based setting as a Special Education Assistant, paraprofessional, Behavior Interventionist (BII), Behavior Therapist (BT), or related position requiredSkills and AbilitiesProficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OutlookProficient in data collectionExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Alignment with core characteristics required of every PUC employee: pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticityMust be flexible and team-orientedAble to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentBilingual in Spanish preferredStrong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of workRegular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this positionThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below.
