General Manager

Saint Denis is the newest wine bar concept by Golden Age Hospitality, the group behind The Nines, Bar Bianchi, Elvis, Deux Chats, Le Dive, Acme, and The Happiest Hour is slated to open this September. Located on a busy, sun-drenched corner in Soho, Saint Denis will offer a classic-French food menu by Marjorie Meek-Bradley, former chef of Pastis, The View, Saint Anslem, and Upland.

The spot boasts a beverage program by New York City’s bar darling, Sarah Morrisey (Le Veau d’Or, Frenchette, Ernesto’s, Dear Irving and Dutch Kills). Saint Denis will have perfect martinis and a wine list that features both natural and Old World producers. 

Anchored by a 1930’s deco bar, the interiors pay homage to iconic barrooms of New York and Paris. 

We are looking for a leader who thrives in a busy, hectic, and electric environment, who values and wields the magic of old-school hospitality, and wants to be the driving force behind what is bound to be one of the most exciting and high profile openings of this fall.

GM Responsibilities Include:

• Work directly with the Managing Partner and Director of Op's to develop and execute strategies to achieve operational goals.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to unite both Front of House and Heart of the House towards a common goal of continually raising the bar.Implements, monitors, and fine-tunes clear strategic initiatives.
• Conducts weekly manager meetings and is confident presenting in front of a group.
• Leads motivating, enthusiastic, educational pre-shift meetings.
• Ensures consistent execution of food, beverage, service, and hospitality that aligns with company values.
• Proactively manages prime costs with an eye on the daily, weekly, monthly, and annual projections and budgets.
• Forecasts and monitors weekly sales and labor numbers to ensure hospitality and financial targets are achieved.
• Responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, and developing a strong team.
• Hold team accountable, performance manage, and coach and counsel when needed.
• Ability to diffuse challenging guest situations with patience, understanding, and tact; and resolve conflicts between team members.
• Aptitude to apply creative solutions to practical problems and situations where limited standardization exists.
• Capable of working independently and in a team environment; balances team and individual responsibilities

Position Requirements:

• 4 years management experience in a similar face paced environment
• Must have experience working in a nightlife establishment
• Strong restaurant operational skills
• Knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails
• Experience using POS platforms such as Toast, 7Shifts, Resy, open table, Slack, Asana
• Strong mathematical, and computer skills: Excel, Google docs
• Ability to work late nights and weekends

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation Range $120,000-160,000
