As the founding member of Marriott's Autograph Collection, Kessler Hospitality has long championed bold, original hotels, each carefully created with distinctive style and the Individualist traveler in mind.The Breakfast Attendant is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests in an efficient and courteous manner within the complimentary breakfast area of a hotel.Responsibilities:Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive friendly courteous and service oriented manner.Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and grooming which includes wearing the proper uniform and name tag when workingGreet and seat guests at appropriate tables in a timely mannerEnsure quality control of menus with regard to cleanliness and appearanceClear clean and reset tables/hotel spaces per client request or management instructionEnsure all service areas are stocked organized clean and neat and all side work is complete each shiftAccommodate any special requests made by a guest and offer appropriate alternatives when necessaryCommunicate with all departments regarding in house VIPsSupport all areas of the beverage and food service as necessary including washing dishes by hand and/or placing them in a dishwashing machine restocking dishes glassware utensils pots and pans or other necessary equipment sweeping and mopping floors washing work tables walls refrigerators and meat blocks moving trash and garbage to designated areasHave a complete knowledge of standards of service for receiving a room service orderHave a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in all applicable departmentsCarry out cashiering functions in closing checks and end of shift paperworkPerform opening and closing procedures and side work duties according to station rotation assignmentAnswer questions about the hotel the hotel-brand standards guest expectations the unique characteristics of the hotel local area attractions and things to doPerform any other duties or attend meetings as requested by managementProduce high quality drinks including but not limited to specialty coffee and tea drinks specialty cocktails and beverage requests as required by hotelQualifications:Ability to perform job function with attention to detail speed and accuracyHigh School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferredMust be willing and have the ability to work a varied schedule that may include evenings nights weekends and holidaysMust meet the legal age to serve alcoholic beverages and satisfactorily pass responsible serving course such as TIPs as required by propertyMust be able to obtain and provide Food Handlers card as required by city/county/stateMust be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accuratelyAbility to handle stressful situations in a calm professional mannerUnderstanding of hotel products and guest servicesAbility to communicate professionally when answering phones and speaking with guests and team membersDemonstrates a positive attitude and a desire to be of service to othersPossess a basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation service standards, guest relations and etiquetteAbility to perform numerical operations using basic counting adding subtracting multiplying and dividingAbility to read comprehend and write simple instructions and/or short correspondence and memosAbility to effectively deal with customers and staff while executing high levels of patience tact and diplomacyWillingness to learn new tasks and information provide back-up and support to other team members and respond to guests and co-workers in a positive and optimistic mannerBenefits:We are pleased to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and financial future.Medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching contributionsPaid holidaysPaid vacationPaid sick leave (provided in accordance with applicable law)Employee assistance program (EAP)Educational opportunities / Tuition reimbursementPaid jury duty leave, personal leave, medical leave, and military leave in accordance with applicable law For Employees Based in Washington:8 paid holidays per yearUp to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of servicePaid Sick & Safe Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, with up to 72 hours of unused time carried over from one anniversary year to the next. For Employees Based in Colorado:8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar yearUp to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked. For Employees Based in California:8 paid holidays per yearUp to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.Please note that certain benefits described above for associates in Washington, Colorado, and California may vary for associates covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement ("CBA").
